Oubys/Holosphere/Unexplained Sounds Group/2025 Full Length Review

  Oubys  are  a  solo  project  from  Belgium  that  plays  a  mixture  of  dark  ambient,  drone,  experimental  and  post  industrial  and  this  is  a  review  of  his  2025  album  "Holosphere"  which  was  released  by  Unexplained  SOunds  Group.

  Distorted  electronic  sounds  start  off  the  album  before  going  into  more  of  an  experimental  direction  while  the  synths  also  add  in  elements  of  dark  ambient.  Some  of  the  tracks  are  also  very  long  and  epic  in  length  along  with  the  music  also  adding  in  a  great  amount  of  drones  and  a  lot  of  the  music  is  improvised.

  Voices  can  also  be  heard  in  the  background  briefly  while  the  synths  also  add  in  a  variety  of  many  different  sounding  keys.  All  of  the  songs  also  sound  very  different  from  each  other  along  with  the  album  also  adding  in  a  lot  of  post  industrial  touches,  most  of  the  recording  sticks  to  an  instrumental  direction  and  one  track  also  adds  in  a  brief  use  of  spoken  words.

  Oubys  plays  a  musical  style  that  takes  dark  ambient,  drone,  experimental  and  post  industrial  and  mixes  them  together  to  create  a  sound  of  his  own.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  while  the  song  themes  revolve  around  the  writings  of  William  Gibson

  In  my  opinion  Oubys  are  a  very  great  sounding  mixture  of  dark  ambient,  drone,  experimental  and  post  industrial  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  those  musical  genres,  you  should  check  out  this  solo  project.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Phantom  Space"  "Mind  Switch"  and  "Add  lakes".  8  out  of  10.

Capricorni Pneumatica/IX TAB/Eighth Tower Records/2025 Album Re-Issue Review

  This  is  a  review  of  another  recording  from  Italy's  Capricorni  Pneumatica  which  shows  the  music  going  for  a  mixture  of  dark  ambient,  drone,  ritual  and  electronic  music  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  1987  album  "IX  TAB"  which  was  re-issued  in  2025  by  Eighth  Tower  Records.

  Ritualistic  percussion  and  electronic  drones  start  off  the  album  while  the  music  also  gets  very  experimental  at  times.  When  synths  are  utilized  they  also  add  in  elements  of  dark  ambient  along  with  each  song  also  sounding  very  different  from  each  other and  a  great  portion  of  the  tracks  are  also  very  long  and  epic  in  length.

  A  lot  of  the  music  is  also  done  in  a  very  improvised  style  while  most  of  the  album  sticks  to  an  instrumental  direction.  Electronic  music  sounds  also  also  used  quite  a  bit  throughout  the  album  along  with  some  songs  also  adding  in  more  of  a  repetitive  style  and  one  track  also  adds  in  a  brief  use  of  distorted  voices,  spoken  words  can  also  be  heard  briefly.

  On  this  recording  Capricorni  Pneumatica  takes  dark  ambient,  drone,  ritual  and  experimental  and  mixes  them  together  to  create  a  very diverse  album.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  while  the  song  themes  focus  on  Mayan  Mysteries,  Western/Medieval  Esotericism  and  Vampirism.

  Capricorni  Pneumatici  are  a  musical  project  from  Italy  that  plays  a  mixture  of  dark  ambient,  drone,  ritual  and  electronic  music  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  1989  album  "Vala,  or  The  Four  Zoas"  which  was  re-issued  in  2025  by  Eighth  Tower  Records.

  Electronic  drones  start  off  the  album  while  the  synths  also  add  in  elements  of  dark  ambient  and  all  of  the  tracks  are  also  very  long  and  epic  in  length.  At  times  the  music  also  gets  very  repetitive  sounding   along  with  each  song  also  bringing  in    very  different  sound  and  all  of  the  music  sounds  improvised.

  At  times  the  music  also  gets  very  ritualistic  sounding  while  percussion  style  beats  can  also  be  heard  briefly.  The  album  also  has  its  minimalist  moments  along  with  the  whole  recording  also  sticking  to  an  instrumental  direction  and  one  track  also  adds  in  a  brief  use  of  sampled  voices  and  nature  sounds.

  Capricorni  Pneumatici  plays  a  musical  style  that  takes  dark  ambient,  drone,  ritual  and  electronic  music  and  mixes  them  together  to  create  a  sound  of  their  own.  The  production  sounds  very  dark  while  the  song  themes  are  inspired  by  the  writings  Of  William  Blake.
