Bruce Lamont is a solo artist from Chicago, Illinois that plays a mixture of industrial, experimental, avant garde and noise with some touches of black metal and this is a review of their 2018 album 'Broken Limbs Excite No Pity" which will be released in March by War Crime Recordings.
Atmospheric sounding drones start off the album while saxophones are added onto the recording a few seconds later along with some melodic vocals also being used at times as well as the music also bringing in a great amount of harsh noises and a couple of the tracks are very long and epic in length.
Drum beats can also be heard in certain sections of the recording while the music also gets very avant garde and experimental at times along with some crazy screams also being added into some parts of the songs which also add in a touch of depressive black metal and some of the tracks also bring in a small amount of acoustic guitars.
When synths are utilized they bring in elements of ambient while elements of jazz, industrial and psychedelia can also be heard at times along with one track also adding in a touch of neo-folk as well as all of the musical instruments sounding very powerful and all of the songs sound different from each other.
Bruce Lamont plays a musical style that is very diverse and brings in elements of experimental, industrial, experimental, avant garde, black metal, drone, and neo folk to create something very original, the production sounds very dark while the lyrics cover dark themes.
In my opinion Bruce Lamont is a very great sounding mixture of experimental, industrial, experimental, avant garde, black metal, drone, and neo folk and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this solo project. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Excite No Pity" "Goodbye Electric Sunday" and "Moonlight And The Sea". 8 out of 10.
