Transcendent Device are a project from New York that plays dark ambient/drone and this is a review of their 2012 album "Inquire Within" which was released by No Visible Scars.
Synths and sound effects are all dark ambient drones which have a very evil and occult sound to them and they are the only musical instruments that are present on this recording.
Vocals when they are utilized are mostly Gregorian chants with some samples, while the song themes cover dark and occult themes, as for the production it has a very dark, raw and primitive sound with the songs being long and epic in length.
In my opinion Transcendent Device are a very great sounding dark ambient/drone band and if you are a fan of this musical style, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Magician With My Name" "He Cried In The Ocean...It Did Not Overflow" and "Black Mouthed Infinity". RECOMMENDED BUY.
