Denmark's Picture Ann have returned with a new recording that continues the experimental metal style of previous released and this is a review of their 2016 single "Desolate And Morose" which was released by Floodgate Moods Productions.
Clean yet distorted playing starts off the single before going into more of a heavy and lo-fi musical direction and when synths and d rum programming are added onto t he recording they give the music an atmospheric feeling and the solos and leads bring in more of a melodic yet experimental musical style.
At times the music can be very progressive and all of the musical instruments have a powerful sound to them and both of the tracks stick to a very slow musical direction without using any vocals or lyrics and also adding in a touch of black and post metal.
Picture Ann creates 2 instrumental tracks that are done in a very slow yet experimental musical direction which is a little bit more different than previous recordings and the production has a very powerful sound to it.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Picture Ann and if you are a fan of experimental metal, you should check out this single. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Desolate". 8 out of 10.
