Devils Drunks are a band from Argentina that plays a mixture of death metal and thrash with some elements of black and doom metal and this is a review of their self released and self titled 2016 album.
A very heavy and melodic thrash metal sound starts off the album and when the music speeds up a decent amount of blast beats can be heard and after awhile death/thrash style growls are added onto the recording and the slower sections of the songs are heavily influenced by doom metal and all of the musical instruments sound very powerful.
Throughout the recording you can hear a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and the solos and leads are done in a very melodic fashion and spoken word parts can also be heard in certain sections of the recording and some songs also bring in a small amount of clean guitars and a couple of the tracks are long and epic in length and some of the riffing rings in elements of black metal and there is also a brief use of classical guitars.
Devils Drunks plays a musical style that is mostly rooted in old school death metal and thrash while also bringing in some black and doom metal influences, the production sounds very professional for being a self released recording while the lyrics are written in Spanish and cover violent and angry themes.
In my opinion Devils Drunks are a very great sounding mixture of death and thrash metal with some elements of black and doom metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Estigia" "Abbadon" and 'Otra Cancion Muerta". 8 out of 10.
