This is a review of another reading from H.P Lovecraft this time with S.T Joshi reading "Pickman's Model" and the soundtrack is once again provided by Theologian and the album will be released in November by Cadabra Records.
Ambient style soundscapes start off the album while also mixing in the atmosphere of a classic horror movie before adding in spoken word parts which starts off the story which deals with the problems of the main character before talking about Pickman and the North End and the story also starts taking a darker turn.
The main character talks about how he dropped off Pickman and also mentions he is afraid to talk to the place about it while also mentioning the Pickman's art skills which also has an esoteric and occult touch and the paintings are a lot more different and supernatural than the actual paintings while also comparing it to the Middle Ages.
After awhile the story starts mentioning Pickman as being inhuman while also mentioning his ancestors being witches from Salem burning the 17th century and the story also starts getting more frightening and supernatural and the stress off telling his story also leads to him needing more alcoholic drinks and the paintings also get more esoteric and forbidden and they also invoke changeling and the story starts taking a more evil turn.
In my opinion this is another great sounding reading from H.P Lovecraft and the background music makes the story sound more evil and if you are a fan of this author, you should check out this album. 8/5 out of 10.
