Shadoworld are a duo from Italy that plays a mixture of neo-folk, western music and post apocalyptic soundtrack music and this is a review of their self titled 2017 album which was released by The White Room.
Dark ambient style soundscapes start off the album along with some drones and field recordings a few seconds later and after awhile acoustic guitars and melodic vocals are added onto the recording as well as giving the songs a more neo folk feeling and 2 different vocalists are added onto the tracks.
Synths can be heard in certain sections of the recording and some tracks are very short in length while the guitars use both finger picking and full chords and the songs also bring in a great amount of diversity along with some western music and post apocalyptic soundtrack elements and the synths also have a gothic horror atmosphere at times.
Shadoworld plays a musical style that takes apocalyptic soundtrack, neo folk and western music and mixes them together to create something very original, the production sounds very dark while the lyrics cover dark, depressive, and hateful themes.
In my opinion Shadoworld are a very great sounding mixture of neo-folk, western, and post apocalyptic soundtrack music and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this duo. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Lost In You" "Loneliness" and "The Sound Of Nothingness". 8 out of 10.
