Morgue Of Saints are a 1 man band from Montreal, Canada that plays a very very experimental, drone form of funeral doom metal and this is a review of their self released 2012 album "Sleep/Death".
Percussions are all slow beats that have a minimalist feeling to them, while the synths bring a very atmospheric, orchestra, ambient and experimental sound to the recording, as for the bass playing it has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that are coming out of the guitars.
Rhythm guitars are all slow and heavy dark riffs that combine the heaviest elements of drone and funeral doom metal together to create a sound of their own and there are no guitar solos or leads present on this recording.
Vocals and song writing are all absent from this recording with all of the music being all instrumental, while the song themes cover sleep and death, as for the production it has a very dark, heavy, raw and primitive sound to it with t he songs being long and epic in length.
In my opinion Morgue Of Saints are a very great sounding hybrid of dark ambient, experimental, drone and funeral doom metal and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Sleep II". RECOMMENDED BUY.
