Earhead are a 1 man band from Turkey that plays harsh noise with elements of black metal and this is a review of his self released 2013 album "The Dark Noise".
"Nada-1" which is also the first song on the album opens up with ambient drone sounds which get louder as time goes on by before adding in harsh sounding loops and power electronics while also keeping around the ambient elements.
"666" begins with programmed drum beats along with some atmospheric sounding dark ambient synths and after awhile you can hear voices in the background and the song does not use any heavy or harsh noise sounds.
"Space" opens up with drones from the synths and spoken word samples and the music starts get a lot more louder and harsh as it moves on and halfway through the song loops are added in and the song is very long over 9 minutes.
"Abstract Erection" starts up with some atmospheric sounding dark ambient synths and drones along with some loops and the music gets a lot more loud as time goes on by along with some harsh industrial and noise/power electronics halfway through the song.
"Nada-2" kicks in with rain and thunder sounds along with some drones and a couple of minutes later you can hear loops coming in and out of the song along with some dark sound effects and towards the end the music gets more silent sounding.
"Darkness" comes in with dark sound effects and spoken word samples along with some drones and experimental and avant garde elements and the song is very short and only around 2 minutes and 9 seconds.
"Computer Depression" is introduced with sounding loops and power electronics which also bring in harsh noise elements as well as some dark ambient synths and halfway through the song you can hear some black metal vocals being utilized in the background briefly.
"Fade Out" is brought in with atmospheric sounding drones and halfway through the song the music goes into a silent direction for a few seconds before returning to normal and towards the end dark ambient sounds are added in.
"Nada-3" makes its way in with dark ambient drones and harsh sounding loops and as time goes on by the loud noises start making their way into the song and towards the end the music gets a lot more silent.
"Lamb And Knife" brings its way in with experimental sound effects that are very dark sounding along with some harsh noise sounds a few seconds later and after a couple of minutes there is a brief moment of silence before the natural noise sounds kick in along with some power electronics and after a couple of minutes the music alternates between silence and music parts.
"Nothing Is Perfect" finds its way in with harsh sounding loops along with some sound effects and power electronics which also bring in harsh noise elements and as time goes on by there are also elements of dark ambient added into the song.
"World War III Is Coming And God Is Dead" has its beginnings with dark ambient drones and avant garde sound effects which are utilized on vocals which also leads to loops kicking in as well as adding in female operatic vocals as well as an orchestra.
"Satan FM" has its openings in with harsh sounding power electronics and noises and after a few minutes you can hear some black metal screams being utilized in the background and as time goes on by the music starts getting more diverse in sound.
"Nada - 4" has its start with atmospheric sounding drones and after awhile elements of dark ambient, experimental and avant garde are added into the song along with elements of noise which are done by loops and power electronics and as time goes on by the music starts getting more diverse in sound along with the noises getting more harsh in sound.
'Smells Like Noise Spirit" opens up with ambient style power electronics which also utilize elements of harsh noise as well as some underground industrial elements an you can hear a Nirvana song getting sampled into the music and towards the end there is a brief use of spoken word samples being utilized.
"Space-2-" begins with atmospheric sounds and as the song goes on you can hear more elements of drone, avant garde and experimental getting added into the song and towards the end there is a brief use of spoken word parts and harsh elements.
"The The The" starts up with tribal style drum beats and sound effects as well as adding in shamanistic chanting which also leads up to elements of harsh noise kicking in along with some loops and spoken word samples shortly after that and towards the end classical music samples are added into the music briefly.
"The House Is Black" kicks in with dark ambient drone sounds and power electronics which also bring in elements of harsh noise as well as some spoken word samples and the song is very long and epic in length.
"Nada-5" comes in with dark ambient drone sounds and after awhile rain and thunder sounds come in along with some harsh noise loops and the song is the last song in a 5 part concept and is over 4 minutes.
"Bye Bye Honey!" is introduced with programmed drum beats and atmospheric dark ambient sounding synths along with some spoken word samples being utilized in the background as well as some loops.
"Allahu Akbar" which is also the last song on the album begins with spoken word samples, drum programming, loops as well as some drum & bass elements which also leads yo to techno style synths kicking in and towards the end there is a brief use of melodic female vocals.
Song themes cover Satanism, Occultism, Darkness and Humor, while the production has a very dark, raw and primitive sound to it along with some of the songs being very long and epic in length.
In my opinion Earhead are a very great sounding dark noise project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "666" "Darkness" " Satan FM" and "The The The". RECOMMENDED BUY.
