Whorid are a solo project from Pennsylvania that plays a self harm form of power electronics and this is a review of his 2016 album "Bloated Pig Carcass In A Shallow Lake" which will be released in February by Annihilvs Power Electronix.
Distorted spoken word samples start off the album and after awhile elements of harsh noise start to mix in and a great portion of the tracks are very long and epic in length and the music also brings in programmed beats and elements of underground industrial at times while also being very avant garde and experimental.
The power electronics give the songs more of a brutal style and angry screams can also be heard in some of the songs that bring in a touch of grindcore and black metal and as the album progresses the music gets more diverse along with some field recordings being brought in at times while some tracks also bring in AM radio static.
Whorid creates a power electronics album t hat is very dark, and experimental as well as creating a soundtrack to some disturbing yet demented nightmares, the production sound s very dark yet powerful at the same time while the song themes focus around stalking, BDSM, social anxiety, substance abuse and murder.
In my opinion Whorid are a very great sounding self harm, power electronics solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "I Never Loved You, I Suffered You" "Self Medicating Isolation" "Capture" and "Nothing Is Left". 8 out of 10.
