Megalophobe are a solo project from New York that has been featured before in this zine and plays a mixture of experimental and dark ambient and this is a review of his self released and self titled 2018 ep.
Ambient style soundscapes start off the ep while the music also gets very experimental at times along with some programmed beats as well as some songs also bringing in drones and experimental elements and the music always remains instrumental, all of the songs sound very different from each other and the last track is very long and epic in length.
On this recording Megalophobe plays a musical style that takes dark ambient, drone and experimental and mixes them together to create a sound of his own while also keeping everything instrumental and the production sounds very dark.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Megalophobe and if you are a fan of experimental and dark ambient, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE 'A Field Of Wind Turbines In the Foreground" and "Not While The Ship Is Docked". 8 out of 10.
