Funeral Moth are a band from Japan that plays a very extreme form of funeral doom metal and this is a review of t heir 2016 album "Transcience" which was released by Weird Truth Productions.
Depressive clean playing starts off the album and after a minute it starts mixing in with a heavier sound and all of the musical instruments sound very powerful which also leads up to deat5h metal growls making their presence known on the recording and the music starts going into a funeral doom metal direction.
Both of the tracks are very long and epic in length and when guitar leads are added into the music they are very dark and melodic and the riffs also bring in melodies at times and all of the music sticks to a very slow and dark musical direction that also has more in common with the mid 90's style of funeral doom metal and spoken word parts along with some melodic chants are added onto the last track..
Funeral Moth plays a style of funeral doom metal that is very dark, slow and heavy and sticks more to t he pure side of t he genre, the production sounds very dark and heavy while the lyrics cover fate, emptiness and hopelessness.
In my opinion Funeral Moth are a very great sounding funeral doom metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Lost". 8/3 out of 10.
