Fury 161 are a duo from Canada that plays death industrial with some elements of black metal, dark ambient, gabber, and power electronics and this is a review of their 2014 album "Armageddons Maw" which was released by Bugs Crawling Out Of People.
Harsh noises and power electronics start off the album and militant beats can also be heard in the music at times along with some dark sounding synths which also gives the music more of an ambient feeling and after awhile spoken word parts are added into certain sections of the recording and after awhile more industrial elements are utilized.
Distorted loops and black metal screams can be heard on some of the tracks and as the album progresses guitars can be heard in certain sections of the recording and a couple of the tracks are very long and epic in length and the album gets very diverse with each song and some of the later songs bring in elements of gabber.
Fury 161 plays a musical style that is very heavily rooted in death industrial while the influence of black metal is a very huge part of their music and they also mix in elements of gabber, dark ambient and harsh noise to create something very original, the production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover dark and misanthropic themes.
In my opinion Fury 161 are a very great sounding black metal influenced death industrial project and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this duo. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Spirits" "Open Wide" "Black Heart Attack" and "Tears". 8 out of 10.
