Clavicvla are a solo project from Italy that has had music reviewed before in this zine and plays a mixture of black ambient and death industrial and this is a review of his 2019 album "Sepulchral Blessing" which was released as a joint effort between Sentient Ruin Laboratories and Cyclic Law.
Dark ambient soundscapes start off the album while the music also brings in a great amount of programmed beats. Distorted black metal screams can also be heard in some parts of the recording as well as the songs also adding in some avant garde style synths which also gives the songs more of a diabolical atmosphere.
Some of the tracks are also very long and epic in length while growls are also utilized at times. Drones are also added into some parts of the music along with the songs also mixing in a great amount of noise and death industrial elements as well as the songs also capturing the atmosphere of a horror induced nightmare, when throat singing is used briefly it also gives the recording more of a ritualistic feeling.
On this recording Clavivvla remains true to the mixture of death industrial and black ambient he had established on his previous release. The production sounds very dark while the lyrics cover Demonology, Occultism, Sumerian, Persian Gods and Apocryphal themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Clavicvla and if you are a fan of black ambient and death industrial, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Demonic Integration" and "Angra Mainyu". 8 out of 10.
