Solvarg/Opus. I - Eutyfron/2011 Album Review

Solvarg  are  a  band  from  Sweden  that  has  been  featured  before  in  this  zine  with  a  musical  style  that  combines  neo  classical  music  with  dark  ambient and  this  is  a  review  of  their  self  released 2011  album "Opus.  I  -  Eutyon".

Synths  are  very  dark  and  atmospheric  sounding  combining  neo  classical  with  dark  ambient  while  having  the  music  focus  on  the  former  as  opposed  to  the  later  with  more  symphonic  elements  and  shorter  songs  than  the  previous  recordings  in  addition  their  are  some  new  wave  lements  being  utilized  on  the  bonus  tracks,  while  the  drum  programming  brings  a  militant  sound  to  the  music.

Vocals  and  songwriting  are  all  absent  from  this  recording  with  the  music  being  all  instrumental,  while the  song  titles  are  in  Swedish  and  cover  dark  themes,  as  for  the  production  it  has  a v ery  strong  and  powerful  sound  to  it.

In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  recording  from  Solvarg  that  is  more  symphonic  and  more  neo-classical  influenced  than  the  previous  recordings  and  if  you  are  a f an  of  this  style,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Mvt.  Maestoso"  "Mvt.  Eroico"  and  "Postludium".  RECOMMENDED.
