This is a review of a compilation called "Tamanui Te-RA" which was released by Kalpamantra during the year of 2010 and we will review the songs one by one.
Cold Fusion Sounds brings us "Vast Emptiness" a very atmospheric and dark sounding ambient song with some drone soundscapes in the background.
Next up is Shibalba with "Sekhem" a more ritualistic sounding dark ambient sound with some dark synths that use a variety of many different musical keys, choirs and experimental sounding sound effects.
Next up is 1774 with "Von Der Suche Nach Seelenruhe" a very dark and experimental sounding ambient song based on the concepts of Goethe.
Next up is Cophe'Antae Tryr" with "Nitrym" a very atmospheric ambient song with some dark sounding soundscapes.
Next up is Nanohex with "A Succession Of Thoughts" a very dark and experimental ambient song with some avant garde sounding sound effects as well as some tribal style drumming.
Next up is Akoustik Tribal Frequency with "Stained By Shadows" a very dark and ritualistic sounding ambient song.
Next up is Hamith'a Ha with "Bestowing: Elder Avatars Change Mental Testudines" a very dark and experimental sounding ambient drone song.
Next up is Troum with "Estatic Forlorness" a more tribal sounding experimental ambient song with some drumming and percussion as well as some sound effects, in addition the song is very long and epic in length.
Next up is Shadowrealm with "Uranus' Winter Solstice' a very atmospheric and dark sounding occult ambient song.
Next up is Vacuum Pulse with "CYG X-1(Excerpt)" a very experimental and drone sounding ambient song.
Next up is Sleep Clinic with "Which Is Our Without" a very dark sounding ambient/drone song that is very long end pic in length.
Next up is another song from Cold Fusion Sounds "It Was A Nightmare" a very short experimental ambient song with some spoken word parts and weird sounding sound effects.
Next up is Dead.Circuit with "The Infinite Horizon(Towards The Sun)" a very long and epic in length ambient/drone song with some samples and spoken word parts.
Next up is Hoyland with "Cyberkinetic" a very dark and ritualistic ambient song with noise elements to it.
Next up is Mytrip with "She Feeds Dust" a very dark and avant garde sounding ambient song with some drone soundscapes in the background.
Next up is Niko Scorpio with "Through The Ribcage(Red Shift)" a very long end epic in length ritualistic dark ambient/drone song with spoken word parts and samples.
Next up is Project: NA. with "Evolution Ov Sin...(Edit)" a very long and epic in length dark ambient/drone/noise song that utilizes some industrial influences and distorted vocals.
Next up is Horologium with "Urkraft" a martial industrial song mixed with neo-classical music along with a Germanic feeling.
Next up is Klver with "End Of Kromac Pulsation" a very dark and avant garde sounding experimental ambient song.
Next up is Peter Andersson with "Deep Floating Surface" a very long and epic in length experimental ambient song.
Next up is Grist with "Black Forest, White Ash" a long and epic in length ambient song that includes the sounds of nature that utilize some experimental noise soundscapes towards the end of the song.
Next up is Slumbersun with "The Opening Of The Third Eye" a very atmospheric and experimental sounding ambient song that has an industrial music feeling to it as well as some vocals.
Next up is Nebula VII with "Nihil" a very dark and avant garde sounding ambient song that utilizes some influences from noise and experimental music along with some demonic sounding growls.
Next up is Crepuscular with "Nunatak" a very dark sounding experimental ambient song that uses a mixture of synths and noise effects.
Next up is Dead Man Hill with "All Saints Day" a very dark and evil sounding dark ambient song from a band that has been included in this zine before with an interview in addition there is a great amount of neo-classical elements being added to the song as well as some spoken word parts as well as some clean singing.
Closing the recording is Serenity Of The Solar Existence with "Sunloving" a very long and epic in length dark ambient song that mixes in elements of post rock to give the song a lot more variety with the use of guitars.
In conclusion I feel this is a very great sounding compilation and I would recommend it to all fans of ritual, dark ambient and experimental music. RECOMMENDED.
