Philippe Blache is a solo artist from France that plays a mixture of drone, ambient and neo-classical and this is a review of his 2015 album "Script Of A Journey Through The 'Time Image'" which was released by Triple Moon Records and also brings in a few quests.
A very dark and haunting piano sound starts off the album and mixes classical and dark ambient together and the later tracks also bring in more drones and soundscapes along with some vocals that also add a touch of goth rock to the recording and the music also brings in a great amount of atmospheric elements.
When spoken word parts are utilized they give the music more of a poetic feeling while the field recordings and sound effects when they are utilized bring more experimental and avant grade elements onto the recording and there are also a decent amount of instruments being utilized throughout the album and one of the tracks also brings in a brief use of choirs.
Philippe Blache creates an album that is very diverse and original sounding with the main focus being an ambient while elements of classical, drone, soundscapes and field recordings are used throughout all of the songs. the production sounds very dark while the lyrics when they are utilized cover poetic themes.
In my opinion Philippe Blache plays a great mixture of dark ambient, drone and neo-classical and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this solo artist. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Script" Garden" "Ghostliness" and "Arbor". 8 out of 10.
