Eibon are a band from France that plays an atmospheric and post mixture of sludge and doom metal with a touch of black metal and this is a review of their 2013 album "II" which was released by Throatruiner Records.
Distorted guitar drones start off the album along with a great amount of reverb and after a spoken word part the music starts to get more heavy and goes into a sludge metal direction along with some high pitched screams that also bring elements of black metal onto the recording and you can also hear a touch of post hardcore in the bands musical style.
Both of the tracks are very long and epic in length and some of the riffs also bring in a small amount of melody which also gives the songs more of a doom metal feeling and when solos and leads are utilized they are done in a very dark and melodic musical direction and there is also a brief use of fast playing and blast beats.
Eibon plays a musical style that takes sludge and doom metal and mixes in elements of post, black metal and atmospheric music to create a sound of their own, the production sounds very dark and heavy while the lyrics cover hate, war and desolation themes.
In my opinion Eibon are a very great sounding mixture of sludge and doom metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACK "The Void Settlers". 8 out of 10.
