This is a review of a split ep between United Kingdom's Eye Of Solitude and the Netherlands Faal which was released by Kaotoxin Records and we start off the review a band that has been featured before in this zine and plays an atmospheric form of funeral doom/death metal.
Their side of the split starts out with a very symphonic sound and after a minute the music starts going into more of a heavier and melodic doom metal direction and after awhile deep death metal growls are added into the song and the music also sticks to a very slow musical direction and also mixes in depressive keyboards and synths at times, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover Sorrow and Negativity themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Eye Of Solitude and if you are a fan of this band, you should enjoy their side of the split.
Next up is Faal a band that plays a funeral form of doom/death metal.
Their side of the split starts out with an atmospheric sound along with some clean playing and after a minute vocals are added into the music and have a deep voice to them before going into a heavy and melodic direction that also uses death metal growls and black metal screams and the song also brings in a good mixture of both clean and heavy parts and the song also sticks to a very slow musical direction and the solos and leads are also very melodic, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics depression and life themes.
In my opinion Faal are a very great sounding funeral doom/death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out their side of the split.
In conclusion I feel this is a very great sounding split and if you are a fan of funeral doom metal, you should check out this recording. 8 out of 10.
