Dyrgaist are a solo project originally from Chile but now located in France that plays dark ambient and this is a review of his self released 2015 album "Sparkles Of Meta-Reality".
The album starts out silently before ambient style synths kick in along with a very powerful and organic sound and after awhile the music start getting more experimental and all of the tracks are very long and epic in length and you can also hear the sounds of nature and darkness in certain sections of the recording.
Elements of minimal and harsh noise can be heard at times and as the album progresses the music gets more avant garde and also starts utilizing more drones and field recordings and all of the songs sound different from each other and also adds in a very ritualistic and occult feeling at times as well as always remaining instrumental and on the last track elements of neo classical are added onto the recoridng.
Dyrgaist plays a style of dark ambient that gets very ritualistic and experimental at times, the production sounds very dark theme while the themes on the recording cover the occult nature of everything and astral phenomena as an inspiration.
In my opinion Dyrgaist are a very great sounding dark ambient solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Abrasax Ablathanalba Akrammachari" and "The Anguish Of My Own Eidolin". 8 out of 10.
