This is the final review of a recording from Switzerland's solo project Hostile Surgery which shows the music going for a mixture of a mixture of drone, minimalism, dark ambient, industrial and noise and the album was released in 2025 by Musique moleculaire label and called "Triggered".
Atmospheric sounding drones start off the album while all 3 of the tracks are more then 40 minutes in length. Minimalist soundscapes are also utilized quite a bit throughout the recording along with the music also getting very repetitive at times and all of the songs also stick to an instrumental direction.
Harsher noises are also added into certain sections of the recording while a lot of the music also sounds improvised. When synths are utilized they also bring in elements of dark ambient along with each track showing the music going into a different direction as well as the album also adding in touchers of more underground industrial.
On this recording Hostile Surgery takes drone, minimalism, dark ambient, industrial and noise to create an album that sounds very different from previous releases as well as keeping everything instrumental while the production sounds very dark.
In my opinion this is another great sounding album from Hostile Surgery and if you are a fan of drone, minimalism, dark ambient, industrial and noise, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Part 2". 8 OUT OF 10.
