Urbanfailure are a solo project from Slovakia that plays a mixture of noise, experimental, IDM and industrial and this is a review of his 2024 album "ShortCutsHarshMellow" which was released by urbsounds.sk.
Harsh noises and power electronics start off the album while a lot of the tracks are also very short in length. When programmed beats are utilized they also bring in elements of IDM and industrial along with the music also getting very experimental at times and all of the recording sticks to an instrumental direction.
A lot of the music sounds very improvised while a great portion of the songs also sound very different from each other. Synths can also be heard on a few tracks and natural sounding noises are also added into certain sections of the album, spoken words can also be heard briefly
Urbanfailure plays a musical style that takes harsh noise, experimental, IDM and industrial and mixes them together to create a sound of his own as well as keeping everything instrumental while the production sounds very dark.
In my opinion Urbanfailure is a very great sounding mixture of harsh noise, experimental, IDM and industrial and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this solo project. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Flex" "Body Parts" FFW" and "Runner lap". 8 out of 10.
