Dirk Series is a solo artist that plays a mixture of experimental, guitar based ambient and drone and this is a review of his 2025 album "Fog Curtains" which was released by Momentarily Records.
Dark ambient style synths start off the album while the songs are divided into 4 chapters and are also very long and epic in length. All of the music also sticks to an instrumental direction along with the recording also adding in a great amount of atmospheric sounding drones.
At times the music also gets very experimental sounding while the guitar sounds are done in a more non traditional style and mixed in with some synths. A lot of the album also captures an improvised atmosphere along with all 4 chapters also adding in a different style.
Dirk Series plays a musical style that takes experimental, dark ambient, drone and guitar sounds and mixes them together to create a sound of his own as well as keeping everything instrumental while the production sounds very dark.
In my opinion Dirk Series is a very great sounding mixture of experimental, guitar based ambient and drone and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this solo project. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Part one" and "Part 4". 8 out of 10.
