Jagath are a solo project from Russia that has had music reviewed before in this zine and on this recording plays a mixture of ritual, industrial and dark ambient and this is a review of his 2022 album "Svapna" which will be released on September 30th by Cold Spring.
Dark ambient style synths start off the album along with some clear vocals a few seconds later while the music also adds in a decent amount of ritualistic soundscapes. Home made instruments can also be heard at times as well as most of the tracks also being very long and epic in length and distorted sounds can also be heard at times.
Elements of post industrial can also be heard quite a bit throughout the recording while the songs also add in a great amount of percussion orientated sounds. The music also has its apocalyptic moments along with all of the songs also being improvised and most of the album also sticks to an instrumental direction, each track also sounds very different from each other.
On this recor4ding Jagath remains true to the mixture of dark ambient, post industrial and ritual that he had established on his previous release while the production sounds very dark.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Jagath and if you are a fan of ritual, industrial and dark ambient, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Prabadhan" and "Unmada". 8 out of 10.
