Kult are a solo project from Portugal that plays a mixture of industrial, harsh noise and power electronics and this is a review of his 2006 album "-" which was re-issued in 2022 by Khthon.
Field recording start off the album along with some experimental sounds a few seconds later while electric guitar sounds can also be heard briefly. On the second track power electronics, harsh noises and high pitched screams which also add in a touch of black metal are introduced into the music.
Touches of underground industrial can also be heard at times while a great portion of the tracks also sound very different from each other. The album also adds in a few instrumentals along with some synths also being utilized briefly as well as the two closing songs also being very long and epic in length.
Kult plays a musical style that takes industrial, harsh noise and power electronics and mixes them together to create a sound of his own. The production sounds very dark while the lyrics cover darkness and violence themes.
In my opinion Kult are a very great sounding mixture of industrial, harsh noise and power electronics and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this solo project. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Night Wind" "Wolf" and "Dissecting Table". 8 out of 10.
