Kowa Axis and Pale World are solo artists from the Untied Kingdom that team up together to create a recording that mixes noise, experimental, improv, drone, sludge and doom metal and this is a review of their 2019 collaboration album "Niche Field" which was released by Trepanation Recordings.
Atmospheric sounding drones start off the album while all of the tracks are also very long and epic in length. Guitar noises are also utilized quite a bit throughout the recording as well as giving the songs more of an experimental and avant garde edge and all of the tracks are also instrumentals.
All of the music also captures an improv atmosphere while also capturing the heaviness of sludge and doom metal. All of the songs also sound very different from each other along with some distorted guitar leads also being utilized briefly as well as one track also adding in a small amount of distorted spoken word parts.
Kowa Axi and Pale World team up together and create a guitar orientated album that mixes experimental, noise, improv, drone, sludge and doom metal together and the production sounds very dark.
In my opinion this is a very great sounding collaboration between Kowa Axis and Pale World and if you are a fan of experimental, improv, drone, sludge and doom metal, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Secondary" and "Quarternary". 8 out of 10.
