Agathon Scrolls are a solo project from Russia that plays a very harsh form of noise and this is a review of his 2019 album "The Birth Of God By Caesarean Section By Joseph's Hands"which was released by Nailed Nazarene Industries.
Power electronics and harsh noises start off the album while the only track that is presented on the recording is over 40 minutes in length. Spoken word parts are also utilized quite a bit throughout the recording and also gives the music more of a ritualistic atmosphere along with some Gregorian chants also being utilized throughout most of the album as well as the background music also bringing in a very repetitive style.
Agathon Scrolls plays a style of harsh noise that is more spiritual than most artists of this genre, The production sounds very dark while the lyrics cover religion themes.
In my opinion Agathon Scrolls are a very great sounding harsh noise solo project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. 8 out of 10.
