This is a review of another recording from Fleshpress which continues their sludge/doom metal approach with the album being called "Acid Mouth Strangulation" and released by Svart Records during the year of 2011.
"Glass Trails" which is also the first song on the album as well as title track opens up with avant garde sound effects and a few seconds later clean guitars find their way into the song and after a couple of minutes drums kick in as well as some slide guitars and halfway through the song heavy guitar riffs finally kick in which also leads to some high pitched sludge screams and the song closes with sound effects.
"Copper Eyes" begins with dark and melodic guitar riffs and drums and the music starts getting a little heavier along with some high pitched screams and halfway through the song their is a brief use of clean playing before getting heavy again and towards the end the music speeds up.
"Oblivion Persistent" which is also the last song on the album opens up with sound effects before adding in bass guitars and drums as well as some melodic guitar riffing which eventually starts to get heavier which leads up to the high pitched screams kicking in and halfway through the song clean guitars take over for awhile while also still being distorted and towards the end the music returns to a heavier direction.
Song lyrics cover misanthropy, anger and distrust themes, while the production has a very strong, powerful, heavy and professional sound to it along with most of the songs being very long and epic in length.
In my opinion this is another sounding recording from Fleshpress and if you are a fan of sludge/doom metal, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Glass Trails". RECOMMENDED BUY.
