This is another review of an album from Fleshpress with the musical style still being doom/sludge metal with elements of black metal and the album is called "Worm Dirges" and was released by Parasitic Records during the year of 2004.
"Asphalt" opens up with nature sounds along with some bass guitars and after a couple of minutes drums and heavy guitars kick in along with some high pitched screams and a couple of minutes later 70's style rock guitar leads start coming in and out of the song as well as the guitar riffing getting melodic in certain sections of the song, halfway through the song the music goes more into amp noises and psychedelic sounds and the heavy guitars do not return until the end.
"Vortex" begins with heavy guitar riffs and drums as well as some distorted amp sounds and a couple of minutes later high pitched screams finally come into the song along with some gun shot noises a few seconds later and the song sticks to a slow direction during its 9 minute length
Song lyrics cover misanthropy, anger and disgust, while the production has a very strong, powerful, heavy and dark sound where you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording with both of the songs being very long and epic in length.
In my opinion this is another great sounding album from Fleshpress and if you are a fan of doom metal and sludge with a blackened edge, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Asphalt". RECOMMENDED BUY.
