This is a review of another recording from Fleshpress which continues their black metal influenced sound of sludge/doom metal with the ep being called "No Return" and released in 2010 by Kult of Nihilow.
"No Return" opens up with drums and after awhile experimental sound effects and bass guitars make their way into the song and after awhile heavy guitar riffs kick in along with some high pitched screams and towards the end there is a brief use of melodic chanting before the song goes into a faster direction along with blast beats and guitar leads.
"Spiral Filter' begins with some clean guitar playing along with some drums and heavy guitar and bass riffs which also leads up to some high pitched screams as well and the guitar riffing uses some melody as well as bringing in some guitar solos and leads as well as a brief use of spoken word samples before going into psychedelic sound effects.
Song lyrics cover misanthropy, anger and distrust, while the production has a very strong, powerful, heavy and professional sound where you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording as well as both of the songs being long and epic in length.
In my opinion this is another great sounding ep from Fleshpress and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACK "No Return". RECOMMENDED BUY.
