Ov Mhurn are a 1 man band from Spain that plays dark ambient with elements of black and doom metal and this is a review of his 2014 ep "Abstract Paths" which was released by Senseless Life Records.
The ep starts out with fire burning sounds along with rain and thunder and after the brief intro synths start to kick in and the music starts going for a more atmospheric dark ambient sound ad there is also a variety of many different sounding keys and segments being utilized as well as the main track being long and epic in length and over 15 minutes long.
As the ep progresses the music starts getting more epic along with a dark medieval atmosphere and the rain and thunder sounds of the intro are also mixed in the ambient and synth parts at times and the synths also have an atmospheric black and funeral doom metal feeling to t hem at times.
Ov Mhurn has a very interesting sound with his music taking dark ambient and adding in black and doom to create a more atmospheric and epic recording, the production sounds very dark and the music is all instrumental along with a darkened and occult concept.
In my opinion Ov Muhrn is a very great sounding dark ambient artist and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACK "The Long Walk To Solitude". 8 out of 10.
