Voice Of Ruin are a band from Switzerland that plays a mixture of thrash, groove, melodic death metal and metalcore with a musical style they call horny farmer metal and this is a review of their 2014 album "Morning Wood" which was released by Tenacity Music.
A melodic guitar lead starts off the album before going into a heavier direction along with all of the musical instruments sounding very powerful and screams that also bring a black metal feeling to the recording and after the intro the music starts going into a more melodic death metal direction.
There are a decent amount of blast beats on the recording along with some metalcore style breakdowns along with some aggressive growls and screams and there are also a great amount of groove metal elements in most of the tracks and the guitar playing also has a very technical feeling at times.
As the album progresses clean singing is added into certain sections of the recording as well as a great amount of thrash metal influences in the more brutal sections of the music and they also add in back up shouting vocals at times along with a mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and a great amount of modern metal elements.
Voice Of Ruin takes the modern, melodic form of death metal and mixes it in with groove, thrash and metalcore along with a slight black metal element s to create a sound on this album t hat is more heavy than most of the bands in this sub genre, the production is very professional sounding and the lyrics cover porno themes.
In my opinion Voice Of Ruin are a very great sounding mixture melodic death, groove, thrash and metalcore and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Party Hard" "The Rise Of Nothing" "Today Will End" and "Dirty". 8 out of 10.
