Gamardah Fungus are a band from Ukraine that plays a mixture of dark ambient, drone, jazz, blues, sludge and funeral doom metal and this is a review of their 2010 album "The Way To Build Your Future" which was released by Nocharizma.
Acoustic guitar playing starts off the album and a few seconds later drones and harsh noises are added into the music along with all of the songs being very long and epic in length and on the second track you can hear a brief use of human noises before the music starts bringing in some blues elements that are very tragic sounding.
All of the acoustic guitars are utilized with finger picking and a few seconds after electric guitar riffs and melodic leads are added into the music and they bring in elements of funeral doom metal and sludge, every song on the album has a very different sound to it and the 4th track has a guitar lead that displays a great amount of talent and skill which are also mixed in with some harsh noises which continues on the other tracks as well and they also mix in some jazz fusion and the last track brings in elements of dark ambient and atmospheric music.
Gamardah Fungus brings in a lot of diversity in their music with their heavier side mixing sludge, harsh noise and funeral doom metal together while there softer side has a more blues, ambient and jazz sound to it and the music is all instrumental and the production has a very dark, raw and heavy side to it.
In my opinion Gamardah Fungus are a very great sounding mixture of dark ambient, harsh noise drone, jazz, blues, sludge and funeral doom metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Girls Eat birds" and "Skeleton Key". 8 out of 10.
