HaatE are a 1 man band that plays dark ambient that is influenced by black metal and this is a review of his 2014 ep "As The Moon Painted Her Grief" which will be released by SixSixSix Music.
Noises and a few seconds of silence starts off the ep and a few seconds later melodic chanting and synths are added onto the recording which leads to a more atmospheric dark ambient musical direction along with some programmed drum beats and a few minutes later harsh noises start coming into the music briefly.
Grim black metal screams can be heard in certain sections of the recording along with a small amount of drones and each track is very long and epic in length and on the second song is very atmospheric and experimental ambient and the synths also add in elements of neo classical at times along with some elements of space and progressive rock, the last track has a dark atmosphere that you can hear on some of the atmospheric and ambient black metal albums.
HaaatE creates a very interesting dark ambient sound that also uses a small amount of black metal vocals and the music also evokes an occultic atmosphere at times, the production sounds very dark and powerful while the concept of the music is very dark and depressive.
In my opinion HaatE are a very great sounding dark ambient project and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Crystal". 8/5 out of 10.
