Arche are a band from Finland that plays funeral doom metal and this isa review of their 2016 ep "Undercurrents" which was released by Third I Rex.
Acoustic guitars start off the ep and after a few seconds the music goes into a heavier funeral doom metal direction along with some melodic guitar leads and after awhile death metal growls are added onto the recording and spoken word parts can also be heard briefly along with both of the tracks being very long and epic in length.
At times the music goes back to the early 90's style of funeral doom metal and acoustic guitars also make a return in certain sections of the recording and as the album progresses atmospheric synths are added into the music and both of the songs stick to a very slow yet dark musical direction from beginning to ending of the recording.
Arche plays a style of funeral doom metal that is very slow, dark, heavy and atmospheric that is very close to the original form of this genre, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover dark, poetic, and death themes.
In my opinion Arche are a very great sounding funeral doom metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out t his album. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Plains Of Lethe". 8 out of 10.
