Demonic Rage are a band from Chile that plays doom/death metal with some black metal elements and this is a review of their 2015 compilation album "Omen Of Doom" which was released by Old Temple.
A very raw and dark old school death metal sound starts off the compilation along with some blast beats and growling vocals and the music is very heavily rooted in the early 90's and when the music slows down a great amount of doom metal elements can be heard while t he riffs also use a great amount of morbid sounding melodies.
When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are very dark, melodic and chaotic sounding and they also bring in a cover of Profantica's "Crucifixion Wounds" which also introduces black metal screams onto the recording and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and a few of the tracks are very long and epic in length.
Some of the fast riffs also utilize a great amount of tremolo picking and later on during the compilation they bring in a cover of Pentagram's "The Malefice" while some tracks are also very short in length and the whole compilation also sticks to a very heavy sounding from the opening to closing track while the last song is recorded live.
Demonic Rage plays a style of death metal that is very heavily rooted in the early 90's blasphemous style while also mixing it with doom metal and some black metal elements to create a style of t heir own, the production sounds very dark and old school while the lyrics cover Occultism, darkness, blasphemous and anti Christian themes.
In my opinion Demonic Rage are a very great sounding doom/death metal band with a touch of black metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Occult Formulas To Desecrate Souls" "Desecrating The False Divinity" "Evoking The Pestilence" and "Nailed Christ". 8 out of 10.
