This is a review of a split ep between Vermont's Poppet and France's Peord which was self released in 2019 and we are going to start off the review with Poppet a solo project that plays a very experimental form of dungeon synth with some elements of drone.
His side of the split starts out with some synths and drones while also adding in some elements of dark ambient, Both of his tracks are also rooted in more of an instrumental dungeon synth style along with the synths also adding in a variety of many different sounding keys as well as one track being very long and epic in length, Both of the tracks sound very different from each other will the production sounds very dark.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Poppet and if you are a fan of dungeon synth with some elements of experimental and drone, you should check out his side of the split. RECOMMENDED TRACK "The Frost Giant's Mansion".
Next up is Peord a solo project that returns with a more experimental style of dungeon.
His side of the split starts out with starts out with some drum beats which also gives the music more of a martial feeling. The music is also more experimental than the previous material reviewed in the zine as well as some guitar riffs and melodic leads which are also very heavily influenced by metal.
The second song is long and epic in length while also introducing atmospheric sounding drones into the music. Elements of dungeon and dark ambient are also added into the music as well as both of the tracks sounding very different from each other and remaining instrumental, the production also sound very dark.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Peord and if you are a fan of dungeon synth and experimental, you should check out his side of the split. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Sun In Gemini Part II".
In conclusion I feel this is a very great sounding split and I would recommend it to all fans of experimental and dungeon synth. 8 out of 10.
