Visions are a solo project from Germany that has had music reviewed before in this zine and plays a mixture of dark ambient, ritual and industrial and this is a review of his 2019 album "Temples" which will be released in July by Cyclic Law.
An almost silent sound starts off the album before adding in some atmospheric sounding drones along with some powerful sounding synths. Elements of dark ambient are also used quite a bit throughout the recording and most of the music is done in an instrumental musical direction.
A great portion of the tracks are very long and epic in length while elements of the more darker side of industrial can also be heard in some parts of the music. The synths also bring in a variety of many different sounding keys along with all of the songs also sounding very different from each other and as the album progresses the music gets very ritualistic in some parts of the music.
On this recording Visions remains true to his mixture of dark ambient, ritual and industrial while keeping everything instrumental. The production sounds very dark while the song themes focus on lost civilizations.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Visions and if you are a fan of dark ambient, ritual and industrial, you should check out t his album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Traces" "Ultima" and "Continuum". 8 out of 10.
