This is a review of another recording from Norway's solo project Picture Ann which shows the music going for a mixture of dark ambient, experimental and post rock and the ep was released in 2022 by Floodgate moods Productions and called "We Mourned You".
Programmed beats start off the ep along with some clean playing and dark ambient style synths a few seconds later. All of the music also sticks to an instrumental direction while the music also has its experimental moments as well as some touches of hard rock also being added into the electric guitar sounds, some of the clean sections also add in elements of post rock and each song also sounds very different from each other.
On this recording Picture Ann focuses more on a mixture of dark ambient, experimental and post rock as well as keeping everything instrumental. The production sounds very dark while the song themes focus on the Byronic hero.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Picture Ann and if you are a fan of experimental, dark ambient and post rock, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Tidings" and "This Cavernous Silence". 8 out of 10.
