Hidden In Eternity are a band from France that plays funeral doom/death metal and this is a review of their self released 2019 album "A Tout Jamais".
Rain and bell sounds start off the album before going into a slower and heavier funeral doom metal direction. A decent amount of dark sounding melodies can also be heard in some of the guitar riffing along with most of the tracks being very long and epic in length and the vocals are mostly deep death metal growls.
When the music speeds up a decent amount of blast beats can be heard while all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them. A decent amount of 90's era doom/death metal influences can also be heard in the bands musical style and when screams are utilized they add in a touch of black metal.
Stringed instruments can also be heard in some parts of the recording as well as the synths also giving the music more of an atmospheric feeling when they are utilized. One track also introduces clean vocals onto the recording while also adding some acoustic guitars into the music, Spoken word parts are also brought into the music on a couple of the tracks along with a couple of the songs being instrumentals. The production sounds very professional for being a self released recording while the lyrics cover time, eternity, life and death themes.
In my opinion Hidden In Eternity are a very great sounding funeral doom/death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "In Absentia Aeterna" and "Eitelkeit". 8 out of 10.
