Brave The Waters are a duo from New York that has had music reviewed before in this zine and on this recording plays an instrumental mixture of ambient, post rock and metal and this is a review of their self released 2019 album "Chapter II - Days Of Solitude".
Acoustic guitars and atmospheric soundscapes start off the album while the music also mixes in a great amount of post rock elements. All of the musical instruments on the recording have a very powerful sound to them as well as all of the music being done in an instrumental style.
Elements of ambient can also be heard quite a bit throughout the recording while the music also captures the atmosphere of doom and gothic metal at times. Electric guitars are also added into some parts of the music along with some psychedelic, progressive and shoegaze touches and all of the music sticks to a slower direction.
On this recording Brave the Waters takes ambient, metal and post rock and mixes them together to take their musical style to another level while also keeping everything instrumental and the production sounds very dark.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Brave The Waters and if you are a fan of ambient, instrumental, metal and post rock, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Above The Broken Clouds" "Transcending Horizons" "Out Of Nowhere" and "Arrival At The gates Of Torment". 8 out of 10.
