This is a review of another recording from U.S.A's Clawing which continues their mixture of dark ambient, drone, experimental and harsh noise form their previous release and the album will be released in November by Trepanation Recordings and the album is called "We Live Together".
Ambient style soundscapes and synths start off the album while also utilizing a variety of many different sounding keys. Spoken word parts are also a very huge part of the recording along with some voices also being added into the background at times and the music also gets very experimental in some parts of the album.
Clean guitars can also be heard on a few seconds while most of the songs are also very long and epic in length. Drones are also mixed in with the calmer parts of the music at times along with some harsh noises and power electronics also being added into certain sections of the recording as well as all of the songs sounding different from each other, one track also introduces programmed beats onto the album.
On this recording Clawing focuses more on the ambient, experimental and drone side of their music as well as adding in some elements of harsh noise to make the music more diverse. The production sounds very dark while the lyrics cover the dark side of a relationship.
In my opinion this is another great sounding album from Clawing and if you are a fan of dark ambient, drone, experimental and harsh noise, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Bridges/Rivers" and "Sunday Morning". 8 out of 10.
