The Dead Yesterdays are a solo project from Scotland that plays a mixture of drone and harsh noise wall and this is a review of his self released 2020 album "Tensely Waiting" which will be released on cassette on October 23rd.
A harsh noise wall starts off the album while also adding in some programmed beats and static noises. Both of the tracks are also very long and epic in length along with all of the music also being instrumental along with the music also adding in some more traditional harsh noises and power electronics at times.
Both of the songs also sound very different from each other while the second track shows the music being more experimental and drones can also be heard in certain sections of the recording, hand made instruments can also be heard briefly.
The Dead Yesterdays plays a musical style that takes harsh noise wall, experimental and drone and mixes them together to create a sound of his own while also keeping everything instrumental and the production sounds very dark.
In my opinion The Dead Yesterdays are a very great sounding mixture of harsh noise wall, experimental and drone and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this solo project. RECOMMENDED TRACK "While The World Burns, Flood Rages". 8 out of 10.
