Shedir are a solo project that has had music reviewed before in this zine and plays a mixture of drone and field recordings and this is a review of her 2020 album "Finite Infinity" which was released by Cyclic Law.
Ambient style synths and soundscapes start off the album while drones are also mixed in the music quite a bit throughout the recording. Distorted sounds can also be heard at times in some parts of the recording along with some field recordings also being mixed in with the more calm and atmospheric side of the music.
Most of the tracks are also instrumentals while the music also mixes in a good amount of water sounds. Programmed beats can also be heard briefly along with all of the tracks also sounding very different from each other, one of the tracks is also very long and epic in length as well as the music also having its cinematic moments.
On this recording Shedir brings in elements of dark ambient into her mixture of drones and field recordings as well as keeping everything instrumental and the production sounds very dark.
In my opinion this is another great sounding album from Shedir and if you are a fan of dark ambient, drone and field recordings, you should check out this recording. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Then Swims Your Head" "Before The Last Light Is Blown" and "Beyond The Line". 8 out of 10.
