Altarmang are a duo from Sweden that plays a mixture of dark ambient, drone and ritual and this is a review of their 2017 album "Void" which will be released on September 15th by Cyclic Law.
Atmospheric soundscapes start off the album along with some elements of dark ambient while also adding in hypnotic atmospheres, loops, and analog tonalities and all of the tracks are very long and epic in length while also adding in a great amount of drones and at times the music gets very ritualistic.
Most of the music is instrumental while all of the tracks sound very different from each other and some songs also add in touches of herbal alchemy and ceremonial surrendering while ritualistic chants can also be heard in the background briefly.
Altarmang plays a musical style that takes ritual occult music and mixes it with dark ambient and drone to create a sound of their while keeping most of the material instrumental and the production sounds very dark.
In my opinion Altarmang are a very great sounding mixture of ritual, dark ambient, and drone and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this duo. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Aether" and "Kheper". 8 out of 10.
