Scalk/Olcso Vallas/2017 Full Length Review

This  is  the  6th  review  of  a  recording  from  Scalk  which  shows  the  music  going  into  more  of  a  harsh  noise  direction  along  with  some  shorter  tracks  and  the  album  was  self  released  in  2017 and  called  "Olcso  Vallas".

Field  recordings  and  drones  start  off  the  album  along  with  a  more  minimal  industrial  style  after  awhile  soundscapes  and  elements  of  harsh noise  are  added  onto  the  recording  and  you  can  also  hear  some  brutality  that would  almost  fit  on  an  underground  metal  or  grindcore  release  at  times  and  the  songs  also  utilize  a  great  amount  of  power  electronics  and  on  a  couple  of  tracks  spoken  word  parts  are  utilized.

On  this  recording  Sclak  goes  for  more of  a  harsh  noise  direction  while  also  keeping  around  the  ambient  and  drone  elements  to  create  something different  from  previous  recordings  and  the  production  sounds  very  dark.

In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  album  from  Scalk  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  ambient and  harsh  noise,  you  should  check  out  this  recording.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "V#2"  "V#7"  "V#11" and  "V#14".  8  out of  10.
