This is the 5th review of a recording from Scalk which continues the experimental, ambient, drone, noise and soundscape mixture of previous releases and the album is called "Serpere" and was self released in 2017.
A few seconds of silence starts off the album before adding in soundscapes and elements of drone along with some field recordings and the music also gets more experimental as the album progresses and all of the tracks are very long and epic in length and after awhile elements of noise start to make their presence known and all of the songs sound different from each other along with some touches of ambient and industrial but always remaining instrumental and the closing track brings in more of an avant garde atmosphere.
On this recording Scalk gets a lot more experimental but also keeping the ambient, drone and noise elements as well as keeping everything in an instrumental direction and the production sounds very dark.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Scalk and if you are a fan of experimental, ambient, drone, noise and soundscape, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Voss" and "Secchio Amaro". 8 out of 10.
