Spectral Voice are a band from Denver, Colorado that plays a mixture of doom and death metal and this is a review of their 2017 album "Eroded Corridors Of Unbeing" which will be released in October by Dark Descent Records.
Field recording along with some clean playing starts off the album before going into more of a heavier doom metal direction which also introduces deep death metal growls onto the recording while the riffs also bring in a great amount of dark sounding melodies as well as being very heavily influenced by the early 90's.
When the music speeds up a great amount of blast beats can be heard along with some screams that also add in a touch of black metal while elements of funeral doom metal are also utilized at times and touches of harsh noise are also used briefly and most of the tracks are very long and epic in length and when guitar leads are brought into the music they are done in a very dark, depressive and melodic fashion and one of the songs is an instrumental.
Spectral Voice plays a musical style that goes back to the 90's era of funeral doom and old school death metal, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover horror, death and other world themes.
In my opinion Spectral Voice are a very great sounding mixture of funeral doom and death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Visions Of Psychic Dismemberment" and "Dissolution". 8 out of 10.
