Scalk are a solo project from Portugal that plays a mixture of experimental, ambient, drone, noise and soundscape and this is a review of his self released 2016 album "Accusator".
Atmospheric soundscapes start off the album along with some drones a few seconds later while all of the tracks are instrumental and very long and epic in length and after awhile elements of ambient are added onto the recording and as the album progresses elements of noise are added into the music and at times the music gets very avant garde and experimental sounding and stringed instruments can also be heard briefly ona couple of tracks which also gives the music more diversity.
Scalk creates a recording that mixes experimental, ambient, drone, noise and soundscape to create a sound of his own while also keeping everything instrumental and the production sounds very dark.
In my opinion Scalk are a very great sounding mixture of experimental, ambient, drone, noise and soundscape and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this solo project. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Ultima Ratio" and "Temple Ezer". 8 out of 10.
