Scatmother are a solo project from Germany that plays a mixture of harsh noise, power electronics and death industrial and this is a review of his 2020 album "Sadotantra" which was released by Dunkelheit Productions.
Harsh noises and power electronics start off the album while aggressive shouting vocals are also utilized at times. Some of the music also captures a very apocalyptic and sci-fi orientated atmosphere along with the music also mixing in some very distorted and brutal distortion effects.
Elements of death industrial can also be heard quite a bit throughout the recording while all of the songs also sound different from each other which also gives the album more diversity. At times the vocals also get very demonic sounding along with some tracks also adding in a small amount of avant garde soundscapes and as the album progresses a brief use of spoken word parts can also be heard.
Scatmother plays a musical style that takes harsh noise, power electronics and death industrial and mixes them together to create something brutal sounding. The production sounds very dark while the lyrics cover Tantra, Vedic/Hindu religion, death, darkness, destruction and violence themes.
In my opinion Scatmother is a very great sounding mixture of harsh noise, power electronics and death industrial and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this solo project.
